LT GENERAL HAYDEN WAS UNANIMOUSLY CONFIRMED BY THE SENATE AS PRINCIPAL DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF DNI


As principal Deputy DNI - for all intents-and-puposes - the CIA already "reported" to him, so the charge that his nomination represents an encroachment of the Pentagon into intelligence is hollow at best - but perhaps shameless and LUDICROUS better describe it.

As for the NSA Terrorist Intercept Program debate that will inevitably now result: I welcome it! (See below.)

BTW: Six (6) previous DCI's were active military men at the time of their nomination. As Drummond of POLIPUNDIT points out: all were nominated by Dem presidents so it was okay. Heh.
