I will never forget that the jihadoterrorists assassinated Northern Alliance leader Massoud on September 9th. NOW THIS (BBC):
Suspected Taleban militants have ambushed and killed an influential pro-government figure in Afghanistan. The former governor of Ghazni province, Mullah Taj Mohammad, also known as Qari Baba, was shot dead near his home in Batta, in the Andar district. ... The former governor was a militia chief who fought against the Soviet occupation in the 1980s, and later opposed the Taleban government. In a separate incident, gunmen also attacked a prison governor in Nawa district of Ghazni, but the man survived.I suspect that these attacks in Afghanistan (together woith the recent messages from Zawahiri and Bin laden) might herald major coordinated attacks - not in Europe, but in "apostate" Afghanistan and Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
Correspondents say suspected Taleban militants appear to be targeting prominent pro-government officials, as they step up their attacks in southern and eastern Afghanistan.
never make the perfect the enemy of the good.
ReplyDeletelet's fight the most extreme of the enemy first.
let's give the afghhans some time; ya gotta crawl b4 you walk.
this story you link to was also covered by jihad watch:
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/010649.php
i think we should crank up out counter-attack on jihadofascism steadily.
we do not have to fight all one billion at one, nor do we have to take the extreme measures which would galvanize all one bilion muslims against us - YET.
we may indeed have to one day.
maybe sooner than most think.
and we should vehemnetly protest trials like the one you link to.
and we must make afghans and iraqis and turks and every other muslim nation understand what we will tolerate from them and what we won't.
i think the way to start is to demand that all nations which do not give equla rights to women and equal rights to all reliigions/sects be relegated to observer status atthe UN - because they violate the UN Decl. of Universal Human Rights; and that they be denied all foriegn aid, loans, and any special trade status - like mlost favored natin staus or membeship in the WTO or access to IMF or world bank money.
Reliapundit,
ReplyDeleteWe didn't allow this kind of crap in the aftermath of WWII. Why are we allowing it now?
Why don't we follow our own model of success?
there weren;t one billion nazis all over the globe after ww2.
ReplyDeleteand we did tolerate the ussr for a long loing time.
so wutz hapnin now aint so unusual.
we should slowly and STEADILY crank things up on every front.
but we don't need to play the endgame yet or play our best trump cards first.
I don't think I was clear. In the aftermath of WWII we remade Japan and Germany according to our rules.
ReplyDeleteWe made it illegal to teach Emperor-worship, kamikaze culture, Nazism, Jew-hate, etc.
Why are we not doing the same thing in Iraq and Afghanistan?
Also, why are we calling what they have Democracy. It's as if we do not understand that we aren't simply a Democracy but are instead a Constitutional Democratic Republic.
neither germany or japan r any other nation we built after ww2 chose to have a systme like ours.
ReplyDeletethat was fine with us.
letting japan keep an elpreror was fine too.
so, amking it sound as if we remade them in our eyes is factualkly incorrect.
sure: now we are makking even more concessions. part of that is because the world has changed: afterr ww2, 1 million german refugees from russia and czecheslovakia were simply thorwen out/exiled/ethinically cl;eansed.
this was acceptable then; it isn't anymore.
in additoon, there are one billion muslims we don;t want to piss off - whom we want to moderate and force to our side.
we won't do that by doing what you suggest.
i'll grant you that it may come down to what you suggest, but i think we need to go through the motions first.
we must do what we can to get islam to evolve - and this is different in each nation.
it's complex.
many MANY times i have felt like we are wasting timne and should just jump ahead to the endgame.
but that is simply not goiung to happen very soon - unless the enemy attacks us with WMD.
in the meantime, we need to press ahead, two steps ahead, one back - in different cadebces with different gaits then in other times, and with a different pace in each nation.
don;t set too high a goal too soon. be a little more patient and much more resolute.
we will win.
humanity will advance because each and every person wants to be free and deserves to be free.
afhgnaistan and iraq are iniofintiely more democratic than they were.
we can keep thjem on that path.
iof we don't get bent out of shape or throw in the towel when it goes badly for a stretch.
hang in there, fu'God's sake!
Thanks for the encouragement. Your point about Japan maintaining an Emperor is correct. How long did it take for them to establish Japan as close to what it is now; a reasonably free country.
ReplyDeletejapan still has a long way to go.
ReplyDeleteso do we.
and there are plenty of people around agitating for us to go backwards, and for us to take a left-turn backdown the road to serfdom.
we gotta KEEP FIGHTIN' BABY!
dont let dem bastids GET u down!
