AS WE TRY TO PUT THE SCREWS ON ASSAD, PUTIN IS GIVING EVEN MORE MILITARY ASSISTANCE TO SYRIA

Syrian Army and Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Ali Habib received Sunday Russian counterpart General Yuri Paloviski and discussed military cooperation. According to Syria's state-run news agency (SANA), the two officials discussed matters of developing bilateral ties and military collaboration ... On Saturday, General Paloviski and the escorting delegation arrived in Syria for a three-day visit to meet senior Syrian officials.

... Russian sources said the talks will deal with ... matters of enhancing joint ties. Last September, General Habib visited Russia where he discussed matters of boosting bilateral military cooperation and updating Syria's Soviet-made weapons with Russia's Defense Minister and military leaders.

During 2005, the two nations signed an accord to supply Syria with air defense system batteries. Israel objected Syria's ownership of such technology, but Russia said the batteries are only for defensive purposes. During January, 2005, Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad visited Russia where he reached a settlement to decrease Syria's debt to Russia by 73 percent from USD 13.4 billion to USD 3.7 billion.
PUTIN IS GIVING DIRECT MILITARY AID AND ASSISTANCE TO OUR ENEMIES. RUSSIAN ANTI-AIRCRAFT MISSILES IN SYRIA MAY SOON BE AIMED AT THE JETS OF OUR TRUE ALLIES - AND MAYBE EVEN OUR OWN JETS.

We must get MUCH tougher with Putin. HE'S A DANGEROUSLY BAD MAN. He is de-democratizing Russia while aiding our enemies - North Korea, Iran and Syria - and Venezuela. Fomenting democratic revolutions in Iran and Syria might short-circuit Putin's plans.

So would a REAL DEMOCRATIC REVOLUTION IN RUSSIA! IOW: I'd like to see what we did in Serbia and Georgia and Ukraine duplicated in Russia! And soon.
