The bell curve tells us that such folks will be rare.<BR/><BR/>So the bell curve despite the hyperbole is not out. <BR/><BR/>In fact the authors of the book "The Bell Curve" talk about just such power law effects (cognitive ghettos) although not in terms of the power law directly. They do mention that rewards for being smart are not linear. The difference in earning power between a 120 IQ and a 160 IQ is not around 1.35X it is more like 2X to 10X (on average).M.
