THE SURGERY THAT MIGHT SAVE THE USA $174 BILLION EACH YEAR

BARIATRIC SURGERY CURES DIABETES IN MOST PATIENTS - EVEN THE NON-OBESE.

THAT COULD SAVE THE USA $174 BILLION A YEAR.

INNOVATIONS LIKE THIS - AND NOT SOCIALISM - ARE WHAT WILL SOLVE THE HEALTH-CARE COST PROBLEM.

I am not surprised by this. It is medically sound if one understands the dangers of too many carbs, including grains, too many sugars, and not enough protein and water. Insulin resistance is a major factor in the obesity epidemic.

As I noted a few days at my web site, the Ideal Protein Diet will accomplish much the same thing for a lot of people. The cost is about $150/week (in addition to the required foods that the dieter prepares).

A helluva of a lot of "not-obese-enough" people can get off all sorts of medication via the Ideal Protein Diet. There are some restrictions as to who can participate in the program (kidney problems and recent cancer diagnosis).

I don't mean to sound like a commercial. But I've only recently learned, via my own participation and the participation of others, what this diet can do. By "others," I mean folks were TECHNICALLY weren't overweight or obese; however, they were carrying too much bulk around their middles, quite normal for middle age and beyond, but a significant cardiac and diabetic risk.

I have yet to find out if what I'm spending on this diet program is tax deductible. It should be! One cannot even access the diet without a doctor, usually a chiro and not every chiro.

Last January, I was formally advised by my doctor to lower my cholesterol by "losing a few pounds." Well, I DID lose about 10 pounds, but the bulk in the middle was still there. Not so much now -- after only one month on the diet. The first week was hell. I'm not kidding! But I stuck with it because I knew that I had to and, yes, because I do have a lot of willpower. And by the second week, I felt better than I've felt in over 20 years.

I am convinced that the obesity epidemic can be addressed (at least, for many people) via this particular diet.

Dr. Oz will have a segment about this diet on his Monday show. It IS a diet designed by a doctor over 25 years ago -- and not the Atkins Diet, either.
