[Dustin] Barto wants you to believe that the Founders of this great nation were just fine and dandy with Islam and Muslims. In his article he cites a 1739 quote from Benjamin Franklin about interfaith cooperation, however, he doesn’t give you the true understanding of what Franklin actually knew about Islam. Perhaps time and experience made Franklin a lot wiser:His responses in the comments section were obnoxious, attacking not only the author, but also Pamela Geller and Daniel Pipes. It makes me wonder why they took the man's article in the first place. It's clear he made up his mind from the start.
In a March 23, 1790, letter to the editor of the Federal Gazette, Franklin wrote:
“Nor can the Plundering of Infidels be in that sacred Book [the Quran] forbidden, since it is well known from it, that God has given the World, and all that it contains, to his faithful Mussulmen, who are to enjoy it of Right as fast as they conquer it.”
John Adams, John Quincy Adams and Thomas Jefferson all warned Americans of the deceitful nature, the warring inclinations and the subjugation of other peoples that the Quran teaches its followers.
John Quincy Adams also described the Quran in one of his essays as follows:
“The precept of the koran is, perpetual war against all who deny, that Mahomet is the prophet of God. The vanquished may purchase their lives, by the payment of tribute; the victorious may be appeased by a false and delusive promise of peace; and the faithful follower of the prophet, may submit to the imperious necessities of defeat: but the command to propagate the Moslem creed by the sword is always obligatory, when it can be made effective. As for Thomas Jefferson, in a letter dated June 26, 1822, Jefferson had this to say about Islam in a passage regarding Calvinism:
“Verily I say these are the false shepherds foretold as to enter not by the door into the sheepfold, but to climb up some other way. They are mere usurpers of the Christian name, teaching a counter-religion made up of the deliria of crazy imaginations, as foreign from Christianity as is that of Mahomet.”
As for Mr. Barto’s assertion that the mosques celebrate Veteran’s Day “going as far back as World War II, I wonder if he is aware that Islamic leadership allied with the Nazis in WWII. You can find evidence of Muslims fighting on both sides of that war, but the Grand Mufti at the time was allied with Hitler on the eradication of the Jews.

Lefties need a safe sandbox to play out their melodrama fantasies in. They seem to have hit upon the notion of a 'campus rape epidemic' recently. I don't understand why, but this idee fixe has captured their fancy so much that reality can't possibly intrude.
There's definitely a feeling of escapism about it. Nevermind there are actually entire quasi-nations that are practically premised on raping nowadays. No, what's really important is there's a totally-made-up 'crisis' among (mostly) upper middle class white girls attending $40k+/year East Coast universities, supposedly getting raped at a 25% rate that would make the 17th century Tripoli pirates blush.
(This is not to say that actual rapes do not occur, of course it happens, bla bla. In fact you probably saw that story about five guys arrested in New Jersey - but did that story capture the fancy of the Campus Rape Epidemic people? Nope. Why? Crap university, and mostly nonwhite perps. Not part of the storyline. Duh)
The best analogy I've seen is someone who likened it to the sort of 'hysteria' (irrational, socially-spread behavior among women as a cry for attention) that led to 'witchcraft' charges in places like the early colonies. I think it is becoming a socially-transmitted sickness among some.
I do feel sorry for that Virginia girl, she does seem to have genuine problems. The whole story is far more lurid and messed-up than just the rape story - fake texts from a made-up boyfriend, etc. It's clearly a rich fantasy delusion she was building up, and she clearly needs help.
Then again I don't feel *that* sorry, given that genuine harm has now been done to others by these fantasies, in fact it's just sheer luck that worse harm hasn't been done.The whole thing reminds me of this old song by Helen Reddy. Large numbers of doctors who are listed as serving Medicaid patients are not available to treat them, federal investigators said in a new report. “Half of providers could not offer appointments to enrollees,” the investigators said in the report, which will be issued on Tuesday....
“When providers listed as participating in a plan cannot offer appointments, it may create a significant obstacle for an enrollee seeking care,” Mr. Levinson said.
“Moreover, it raises questions about the adequacy of provider networks. It suggests that the actual size of provider networks may be considerably smaller than what is presented by Medicaid managedcare plans.”
Investigators called 1,800 providers listed by more than 200 health plans under contract with Medicaid in 32 states. In all cases, insurers confirmed that the doctors were supposed to be taking Medicaid patients. Among the providers who offered appointments, the median wait time was two weeks. (The number of providers above the median is the same as the number below it.)
“Over a quarter of providers had wait times of more than one month, and 10 percent had wait times longer than two months,” the report said.
The delays can have significant implications for patients.
“For example,” the report said, “a number of obstetricians had wait times of more than one month, and one had wait times of more than two months for an enrollee who was eight weeks pregnant. Such lengthy wait times could result in a pregnant enrollee receiving no prenatal care in the first trimester of pregnancy.”
Primary care providers, such as family doctors, internists and gynecologists, were less likely to offer appointments than specialists, the report said. But specialists tended to have longer wait times, with a median wait of 20 days, compared with 10 days for a primary care providerRTWT.

An NYPD officer who trumped up charges against a black man on Staten Island and was later caught referring to him by the “n-word” was sentenced to 57 months in prison today.THERE IS NOT A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM IN THE NYPD.
“I screwed up now. It’s all over, my career is over,” said Michael Daragjati, a white eight-year department veteran, was convicted of misusing his authority as a police officer to intentionally violate the man’s civil rights.
Brooklyn federal court Judge William Kuntz agreed, saying, “You kicked it to the curb” as a courtroom packed with Daragjati supporters looked on, including the disgraced former cop’s weeping wife.
Daragjati, 33, had previously admitted that he deliberately falsified charges to arrest the young black man after the two exchanged angry words during a street encounter while the officer was on plainclothes patrol in April 2011.
Following the incident, FBI agents listening in on a phone conversation recorded Daragjati talking about the encounter and using the “N-word” to refer to the black man he had arrested on trumped-up resisting arrest charges.
In that call, the then-cop bragged that he had “fried another n—-.”
Daragjati has since admitted he knew that by leveling the falsified resisting arrest charge, the man would have “to spend the night in jail – which he otherwise would not have done.”

The Garner case is the third part of The Obama Intifada; the first was Trayvon; the second Ferguson.
Each case has been EXPLOITED by the professional race-hustlers of the Left, and quite deftly.
Just as Hamas transformed their aggressive rocket attacks against Israel into a $5billion windfall, the Obama-Jarrett-Sharpton-Holder-Farrakhan Alliance are attempting to transform a few, rare unfortunate deaths into a social revolution.
It's straight out of the Alinsky playbook.
They want riots and race wars because the greater the crisis, and the more they can undermine our law & order institutions and the more power they can seize.
Trayvon and Ferguson were weak cases, but the video of the Garner arrest has made their argument stronger - despite the fact that the arrest was supervised by a black woman: (the supervising sergeant on the scene at the time of the choke-hold is a black woman).
Many of us on the right are upset that no cop was indicted for Garner's death, but NOT because we think racism was involved. We think it was unintentional. And we suspect that the "blue wall" shut down any indictment. We think the cop should have probably been charged with unintentional manslaughter and this would have given Garner and the cop their day in court - out in the open, (unlike the grand jury which is secret).
I'd like to see this case revisited, somehow.
I'd like to see cops get outfitted with video cameras - as many cop cruisers have been for years. The video camera would protect cops and suspects.
And I'd like to see the race-hustlers and leftists - from Obama to the communists of Revcom - STFU.
Three dozens cities in the USA are now getting these communist party sponsored protests - night after night, They are disrupting commerce and civil peace. And make no mistake about it: these protests are not about indicting cops. They're really trying to foment riots as they did in Ferguson, and a revolution here in the USA as the Muslim Brotherhood did for a while in Egypt, as FATAH and HAMAS are currently trying in Israel.
Each day they will ramp up the rhetoric and the threats and the violence. And if the police retaliate, then the cops will be called racists and "pigs", and they can ram up the violence even more.
