NETANYAHU FIRES LAPID AND LIVNI; ELECTIONS POSSIBLE

The prime minister dismissed the two pretentious politicians from his government over some very poor conduct on their part. This could be another instance where elections are around the corner:

Likud officials have lashed out at Finance Minister Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid) on Tuesday, after Lapid accused Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu of wasting money on elections.

"Yair Lapid failed miserably in managing the economy," Likud officials told Arutz Sheva. "He was humiliated and failed in his attempt to lure the hareidi parties into a plot of a putsch against the Prime Minister."

"Lapid continues to lash out, threatening to undermine the government in which he serves while concocting a deal with [Justice Minister] Tzipi Livni - all from old-fashioned and ugly political interests," they continued.

They also explained that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu aims to direct the budget responsibly - funneling funds into programs to boost Israel's security, make the IDF more efficient, and take real steps to lower the cost of living and housing, in their words - "in contrast to Lapid's political budget, which is irresponsibly."

"Lapid prevents the transfer of funds to the security budget, which the IDF needs," they fired, noting the move is "irresponsible."

Interesting. That is a serious flaw on Lapid's part. And he didn't exactly cut back on welfare for Haredis in the past years. Rather, he wanted every draft dodger arrested, when reducing their welfare checks is a more effective way to send a message. Lapid's got other serious flaws, as does Livni, so I won't be feeling sorry for them.

But if the Haredis do enter the coalition, that wouldn't be good at a time when it's better to cut down their bad influence. So new elections may be the best way to go. I just hope people can be convinced not to vote for Shas.

LEICESTER COUNCIL BOYCOTTS ISRAEL

The British city of Leicester is the latest to boycott Israeli products. Manfred Gerstenfeld says it's all part of a tactic to draw attention away from Muslim atrocities:

The city council of Leicester, UK, has decided to boycott all Israeli goods. It is a town in which 19% of the population is Muslim. The Labor party completely dominates the city council.[1]

This new event is opening yet another avenue in boycotting Israel. If one looks back into the history of boycotts, the only precedent which comes to mind concerns an occurrence in Norway.

In 2005, the region of Sør Trøndelag, which includes Norway’s third largest city, Trondheim, decided in favor of boycotting Israel. The Norwegian government subsequently informed them that this decision was illegal.[2]

Yet that's one of the few positive things Norway could've done, and they're not doing any better now. In Britain, this is almost par for the course, and Leicester looks like it's on its way to becoming another sharia zone in the UK.

As 1st municipal fracking ban in Texas takes effect, towns test state's oil and gas supremacy

RENO, Texas — A Texas hamlet shaken by its first recorded earthquake last year and hundreds since then is among communities now taking steps to challenge the oil and gas industry's traditional supremacy over the right to frack. Reno Mayor Lyndamyrth Stokes said spooked residents started calling last November: 

"I heard a boom, then crack! The whole house shook. What was that?" one caller asked. The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed that Reno, a community about 50 miles west of Dallas, had its first earthquake. 

Seismologists have looked into whether the tremors are being caused by disposal wells on the outskirts of Reno, where millions of gallons of water produced by hydraulic fracturing are injected every day. 

Reno took the first step toward what Stokes believes will be an outright ban by passing a law in April limiting disposal well activity to operators who can prove the injections won't cause earthquakes. 

Reno and other cities are taking their lead from Denton, a university town north of Dallas where the state's first ban on fracking within city limits takes effect Tuesday. 

The Denton ban has become a "proxy for this big war between people who want to stop fracking and people who want to see it happen," said Michael Webber, deputy director of the Energy Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. 

"Regulation doesn't work very well in the state of Texas because the Railroad Commission doesn't work on the public's behalf," said Dan Dowdey, an anti-fracking advocate in Alpine, a college town a few hours from two major shale formations, the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford. Dowdey and others are calling for Alpine's city commission to ban fracking — even though the closest drilling is more than 100 miles away.

Just a few months ago, it became accepted fact that America is now the #1 Oil-Producing nation in the world. 

The price of oil has gone down commensurately with America's increased production.

NICHOLAS SARKOZY OPPOSES RECOGNITION OF A PALESTINIAN STATE

Suddenly, a few years after he left office, Sarkozy is willing to do a favor for Israel by voicing his opposition to the French parliament's recognizing a palestinian state. Or is he? There's a line here to ponder:

Israel finally got some help on Wednesday in efforts to push back against a wave of European parliaments overwhelmingly recommending to their governments to recognize “Palestine,” when former, and possibly future, French president Nicolas Sarkozy came out squarely against the move.

Israeli diplomatic officials are hoping that unlike what happened in similar votes over the past month in the British, Irish and Spanish parliaments, the move in France will face significant opposition, and Sarkozy’s comments will help solidify that opposition.

Sarkozy was quoted as asking fellow UMP party members on Tuesday to vote against the resolution.

“I will fight for the Palestinians to have their state. But unilateral recognition a few days after a deadly attack and when there is no peace process? No!” he said, in reference to last week’s terrorist attack at a synagogue in the capital’s Har Nof neighborhood that killed five Israelis.

Note the line about fighting for a non-existent nation to have its "state". Again, this can be construed as more double-talk, and only furthers the lies. Yes, it's good he opposes what the French parliament might end up doing. But that's still no defense for what he said that favors the PLO.

Former Scotland Yard detective Chris Hobbs told The Mail on Sunday last night: ‘Frontline police officers in London are fearful they could become victims of savage targeted attacks on the streets of the capital by fanatical Islamist jihadists. Shin Bet said it had arrested more than 30 militants who were trained abroad, and recovered weapons and explosives. 

They planned to kidnap Israelis and their targets for attack included a football stadium in Jerusalem and the city's light rail system, it alleged. 

The arrests come at a time of rising Israeli-Palestinians tension. 

Over the past month, 11 Israelis have been killed by Palestinians, including four rabbis and a policeman who were stabbed and shot at a synagogue in Jerusalem last week. Twelve Palestinians have also been killed, including several of those who carried out the attacks.

Shin Bet said the militants whose arrests were revealed on Thursday had plotted to attack Jerusalem's Teddy Stadium and a tram, as well as carry out car bombings and kidnap Israelis in the West Bank and oversees. 

The suspects - who include a number of Palestinians from the West Bank, two Jordanians and a Kuwaiti - had received orders from Hamas officials based in Turkey, it added.

An Egyptian legal scholar based in Ibaraki, Osaka Prefecture, says he is working to increase understanding between the Japanese people and the more than 100,000 Muslims who live among them.

Islam has gradually put down roots in Japan. There are now around 60 mosques, many of them established in former private homes.

Mohsen Bayoumy, 55, the imam of one such mosque and a central figure in the Japan Halal Association, says awareness of the faith is on the rise.

Not only are there more restaurants serving halal meals cooked in accordance with Islamic dietary laws, but waiters at nonhalal restaurants often ask Muslim customers about their needs, he said.

I don't know how accurate this is, but no doubt, there is an Islamic presence in Japan, and it is dangerous. I hope most Japanese know better than to be seduced by such degradation.

1. President Obama's dereliction of duty. We know that after being briefed early in the evening at a prescheduled meeting, Obama failed to monitor the attacks in the Situation Room, or even to maintain contact with his national security team. He claims to have issued "three directives," but there is no evidence of that, and some testimony contradicts that claim. He went to a fundraiser the next day, declined for days to refer to the events as a terror attack (despite later claims to the contrary), and blamed a YouTube video for the attack.

2. Hillary Clinton's dereliction of duty--and intimidation. In addition to failing to provide additional security to Benghazi when requested, Clinton enthusiastically promoted the story about the YouTube video, long after it was known to be untrue. She also allegedly tried to stop witnesses from cooperating with Congress.

3. The media's role in the cover-up. CBS News covered up the fact that Obama had lied to the public, and CNN's Candy Crowley famously intervened in the second presidential debate to help that lie along. Instead, the media targeted Mitt Romney's criticism of the administration's reaction to an attack on the Cairo embassy.

Even if the military and some other authorities took proper action, Obama's staff did not, and that's the main issue critics have with how this was all handled. So why should anyone quiet down and let the issue go? And why doesn't Busiek think it's a concern there's barbarians out there making this world a dangerous place?

YEHUDA GLICK'S FORTUNATE RECOVERY

The rabbi who was shot by a jihadist at the Begin Center is now leaving the hospital recovered:

Roughly a month after being shot four times at point-blank range by an Arab terrorist in Jerusalem, Temple Mount activist Yehuda Glick is expected to be released from Shaare Tzedek Hospital in the capital on Monday and go home.

Glick has yet to recover completely from the assassination attempt which left him in critical condition, and still has difficulty speaking due to the wounds inflicted on his respiratory system.

In the process of his miraculous recovery, Glick underwent several surgeries in which part of his lung was removed, as well as part of his intestines.

Last Thursday the IDF Homefront Command issued a warning order of two days for the house of Mu'taz Hijazi, the Islamic Jihad terrorist who shot Glick, to be evacuated prior to its demolition. [...]

Recent polls have found a greater desire to visit the Temple Mount among religious Zionist Jews in Israel following the attack.

And by well everyone should pay a visit to the Mount after what that now deceased monster tried to do. That's how a message can be sent.

Palestinians Will Never Make Peace With Israel

A lasting peace settlement between Israel and the palestinians is unrealistic.  The fact is apostasy in Islam is considered a crime - punishable by death.  And many Islamic cultures practice honor killing if, for example, a daughter is found to be unfaithful, or promiscuous, or unwilling to remain in an arranged marriage.   The Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, Fatah and Hezbollah will never accept Israel...that would be tantamount to Apostasy.  And any Muslims accepting Israel will be victims of honor killing.
